A Cure For Lethargy (Maybe)
by admin - 20:16 on 13 December 2013
Very little in the way of snappery has been performed lately, for one reason or another, but the arrival today of the early Christmas present I've bought myself (inspired by a twenty per cent festive price cut) may shake me out of my lethargy.
It's a 50mm f1.8 prime Pentax lens, acquired with the intention of capturing some snaps of bands where the lights are low and a wide aperture useful. A cat, however, was the guinea pig – no surprise there.
The snap of Pandora is poor in lots of ways but impressive in the 1/100 shutter speed I was able to achieve using only dim indoor lighting and no flash. A large crop doesn't help either.
More tests will be carried out soon, although few are likely to be outdoor ones, given the forecast of a weekend of gales followed by more gales. It's just as well I've not yet cleared the garden of debris from the last big blow.
Much of the day was spent taking my turn behind the counter at the Cromarty Pop-up Shop. Takings in the last week have been impressive, although whether everyone has earned equally won't be determined until The Great Reckoning on Sunday night. Or possibly Monday morning.
So you've just two days left to grab a festive crafty bargain. Don't miss the opportunity.
