Due To Unforseen Circumstances...

Today's not been a good day. Attendance at a speculative market in Ullapool was as disappointing as I'd feared – it's a long way to go to earn peanuts – then on the way back I learned that my debut with The Deeds had been cancelled because drummer Colin had to deal with a family emergency and the gig was off.

Michael very decently suggested to the management of the Bandstand Bar that The Strays should fill the gap, but despite his glowing recommendation the proposal was declined. The management won't book a band it's not seen, which seems an overly cautious attitude when the band's been bigged up by a reputable musician. That's life.

Back at The Rural Retreat I spent the evening with a consolatory pizza and looked forward to tomorrow's Strays gig in Evanton.

Assuming that it goes ahead – there are no certainties in rock and roll.
