Filling The Diary
by admin - 21:43 on 16 October 2014
My future with City Limits looks like it should be a busy one. Our gig next Saturday is a private party (so you're not invited) but the following Saturday I'll finally get to see the Bandstand Bar in Nairn, where I almost played with The Deeds, and the Friday after that we're at the Station Hotel in Alness, where I last played several years ago with the late and unlamented Fire.
Until today, they were the only gigs in the diary, apart from a wedding booking next April, but Keith has begun phoning the venues to let them know that City Limits is back in action and looking for work. As a result, we've three dates at The Room in Inverness on December 21 and January 1 and 2. A good start.
So tomorrow, now I'm back in The Rural Retreat, I'll be busy working through the set, to ensure I know the songs, ahead of a three-man rehearsal on Sunday. It will be good to rock again.
Jasper Update: Mr Carrott still has it, as last night's audience at Leamington Assembly will testify. Some of his routines were greatest hits, but still hilarious, and the music was top notch too, especially as the evening finished with two ELO hits, Mr Blue Sky and Don't Bring Me Down, and The Move's Blackberry Way. It is Bev Bevan's band, after all.
