The Thief In The Night

The future of pine marten snappery outside The Rural Retreat doesn't look promising.
Last night, for the first time in a long while, I set up the Bushnell to see who was enjoying the peanut butter left in The Nutella Tree. I've given up leaving treats on the garden gate because Mystery Moggy usually snaffles them all first.
So it was dispiriting to discover the same scavenging feline up the tree at one-thirty this morning. A disappointed marten followed four hours later.
My only hope is to bring forward feeding time, in an effort to catch early mustelid passers-by, and with luck the snappery opportunities of a few years ago will return. It's either that or catch Mystery Moggy and give him a good talking to.
But when did that ever work with a cat?
