All Set For Hogmanay
by admin - 16:41 on 30 December 2014
So that's Christmas gone and Hogmanay almost upon us. Not that Matchgirl and I will be out anywhere, toasting the new year as part of a crowd of boozed-up revellers. She'd rather celebrate with The Pride (my presence is a bonus, I think) and, as far as I'm concerned, heaving pubs are for playing in, not socialising.
The Bandstand Bar in Nairn wasn't heaving when City Limits strutted its stuff on Saturday, but it was busy enough for a good night. The absence of large numbers of party girls meant we ditched many of the pop numbers in favour of the rockier side of the set – just as well because it meant Keith took the spotlight and allowed poorly Ashley to rest her voice.
Dancing took place, as did crowd participation, and Keith was presented with an eyeful by a departing female flasher. Nairn's that kind of place.
We're out again on New Year's Night, at Foxes in Inverness. This might be quiet after Hogmanay revels, or another wild evening filled with people making the most of their break before work resumes next week. Time will tell.
