A Musical Silence

The Band That Never Rehearses (aka City Limits) is back in action tomorrow at Johnny Foxes in Inverness – our first public gig since mid-January when we also played at Foxes, and the first gig since we entertained a roomful of curling enthusiasts at the beginning of the month.
That was the last time all the band members were together. I had a rehearsal marked in my diary for last night but there'd been a mix-up somewhere because I was the only one to turn up, which means that tomorrow's performance will further stretch our gig:rehearsal ratio. I've yet to discover the cause of the confusion.
However, The Band That Does Nothing But Rehearse (aka The Strays) will soon need a new nickname thanks to the efforts of guitarist Jim who's secured four dates at The Room in Inverness, the first on April 25. Whether he'll be on his oil rig at the time remains to be seen – his work roster is rather erratic at the moment. Fortunately there's a band which will be able to stand in at the last moment...
We rehearse tonight, when efforts will be made to extend a set that needs at least another half-dozen songs for a full evening's entertainment.
To celebrate this flurry of musical activity I've incorporated my gig diary into the Music page and done away with the separate listing, so now it's even easier to find where we'll be playing.
Literary Update: Yesterday I made several women cry, and was pleased to have done so. I achieved this feat by reading one of my short stories, Going Home, at the latest Black Isle Writers meeting. Take a look, and imagine the voice of a seven-year-old girl to experience the full effect.
