Smokin'

City Limits' gig at Foxes last night proved so hot that the fire brigade had to be called out (although the alarm going off may have had something to do with it too). This led to much milling about on the pavement by disgruntled music-lovers and the loss of our last three numbers. Shame. By the time everyone was allowed back inside, about twenty minutes later, it was too late to resume the gig, which was an anticlimactic end to a good evening.

The performance was decidedly dodgy in places but the crowd seemed not to care, especially when we pulled out the big guns – Eighties rock is guaranteed to please the punters, or maybe they're just big fans of Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.

I blame Biro bassist George for my disappearing digital dexterity. Looking up to find him watching caused a brief outbreak of sausage fingers even though he's a friendly guy. He's also a very good bass player.

Rehearsals have been mooted again, although there's little incentive as the next City Limits gig is in June. What's going on? Maybe a proposed recording session and the thousands of pictures taken last night by Ashley's photographer friends will help fill up the diary.

In the meantime, if your local venue needs a musical lift, or you're in need of an ace party/wedding band, you know who to call.
