Escape From Elections

Menorca hasn't changed at all – blue sky, warm breeze, no crowds (not in S'Algar anyway), good food and several familiar faces: Ken, Jenny, John and Yvonne who all attended last year's Great Snappery Fiesta; lapsed snapper and Matchgirl running chum Cathy; and PhotoActive Philip and Norene, of course. Plus several new (to me) ones. No Matchgirl though. Shame.
The destination is worth all the queues, hold-ups, loudly shared phone conversations and massed humanity involved in getting here (although it's a close-run thing). I spent yesterday evening holed up in my room at the Gatwick Hilton with a Marks & Sparks feast and the early election results for company. The less said, the better.
The Pride was not impressed either. Matchgirl reports that cats complained long and loud when she refused to go to bed at her usual time, so engrossed was she in political drama.
However, I can forget about the country's future for the next week and concentrate on sunshine and snappery. It will be good.
