Mints, Minis And Mortality
by Russell Turner - 17:30 on 15 January 2016
Matchgirl returned from the far north yesterday, clutching a copy of the Shetland Times (which contained an enthusiastic review of Ben Line Man), and eager to be reunited with Agent Cooper before the Mini doctor closed for the day. Almost £1,000 was handed over in exchange.
As part of the deal, Matchgirl was presented with two tins of Mini-branded mints. They're a generous bunch at Harry Fairburn.
The Pride showed its usual nonchalance when she was back in The Rural Retreat. The trio was less happy this morning when faced with the first overnight snow. Matchgirl was delighted, and celebrated by going into town in search of a fancy dress for the Press Ball. She returned with a new pair of boots – some bargains just can't be ignored.
Elsewhere, the news seems only bad. David Bowie, Alan Rickman, and today Grizzly Adams is gone. "Are we at that time of life when are childhood heroes are dying?" asked a mournful Matchgirl. It seems that we are.
