Introducing Jenna
by Russell Turner - 17:32 on 29 March 2016
City Limits' future looks secure – we have a new singer, Jenna. Keith, who'd been given the power by Sam and me to make a unilateral choice, auditioned her over the weekend and declared her "Great". She studied music at university, also plays keyboards (a big bonus) and has lots of experience. And she was born in 1991. I'm playing with children.
A date for us all to meet has yet to be set but it's likely to be next week, which will give me a chance to get to grips with her first song suggestion – Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. Abba's bass lines are trickier than you might imagine so some practice will be required.
In the meantime, after a few quiet weeks we're back in action on Saturday with Ashley at The Bandstand in Nairn – the start of a five-gig month, if they all take place. There are disturbing rumours that The Room, where we play at the end of April, is to become a karaoke bar.
