Trusting To Luck
by Russell Turner - 15:14 on 11 February 2017
Sometimes it’s good to live dangerously. After more than a month of giglessness, City Limits returned to Johnny Foxes last night without rehearsal and in places with a not wholly complete memory of certain songs. I began playing on a couple of occasions trusting that my fingers would remember where to go, because I didn’t. Fortunately they didn’t let me down.
The crowd didn’t notice or didn’t mind. Much dancing and singing took place and a couple of impressed punters asked for cards, which with luck may lead to some private functions later in the year.
I left the pub to discover the remnants of a very fine snowfall, all gone by the time I was home.
We’re back there tonight, which after last night’s warm-up promises to be a great gig.
Motoring Update: Son of Seat, who for many months has displayed more dashboard alerts than a Christmas tree, lit up another one yesterday – the dinky yellow bulb that warns of a blown light. A careful examination of the vehicle found all headlights, rear lights and sidelights in working order. Another mystery.
