Away From The Wind
by Russell Turner - 11:33 on 06 April 2017
Matchgirl is away and all is quiet in The Rural Retreat apart from Maia requesting meals and snacks. A few walks have been taken but The Pride exercises caution when the winds are gusting, which they have been for the last three days. That’s my excuse for not yet beginning spring gardening.
Much indoor activity of the sleeping kind has been carried out by the resident moggies with Willow on her shelf, Maia in her bed and Pandora upstairs in the bedroom. As yet, none have shown any interest in the radiator bed that Matchgirl brought home for them after her latest shopping spree.
But cats like to shake things up now and then (and in six months, when it’s filled with dust, the radiator bed is certain to become someone’s favourite spot) so this morning Pandora joined Maia in the bed – an outrage our black cat tolerated with unusual grace.
The Pentax came out, but the only sign of Maia in the surviving snaps is as a dark backdrop behind our tabby, who as usual had no trouble making herself comfortable.
