The Machine Of A Dream

The only problem with taking delivery of a shiny new(ish) car is that it doesn’t stay that way long. I managed about thirty miles before I noticed a chip in the windscreen. Whether it was there earlier I don’t know, but I don’t recall anything that could have caused it. Ho hum.
Otherwise, Grandson of Seat and I are getting on fine. I don’t have to worry about mastering the satnav because I’d have to pay extra for it to be activated (no great loss) but the radio is now set up to my satisfaction, all the mirrors are adjusted, the cruise control is fun, I’ve made my debut hands free phone call (although I was parked at the time) via Matchgirl’s cast-off HTC Desire, and thanks to the wonder of Bluetooth I can listen to the albums on the phone through Seat speakers.
As for the change from 1.6 to 1.2, there’s barely a difference apart from a much smoother ride in a vehicle that has fully functioning springs and doesn’t creak like a tea clipper in a gale every time the steering wheel’s put into full lock.
The worst part of the morning was being assaulted by the aroma from Arnold Clark’s official dangly thing. There’s no excuse.
