The End Is In Sight

Day Four of The Great Heating Makeover: Another day of hard work by Mr Plumber and his mates finished with the end in sight. After four days of noise, dust and disruption it can’t come soon enough – I know how our poor traumatised tabby feels.
The pipework is all in place, new radiators installed downstairs (we’re not bothering for now with upstairs), and most of the garden junk cleared up. The system will be tested tomorrow when – all being well – hot water will return to The Rural Retreat. We hope so, anyway – we won’t see an electrician, who will install the boiler controller, until Monday.
Sadly, our vintage wallpaper is now covered up again but may reappear when The Great Kitchen Makeover takes place at a date yet to be decided. Knowing what we want will have to be decided first – a task not helped by Matchgirl being sent a link to Houzz, which is like a bride-to-be poring over bridal magazines. Thanks, Lizzie.
And sometime even further distant is The Great Bathroom Makeover. We’ve not warned The Pride yet. One trauma at a time is enough.
