Fearsome Faces And A Demanding Dog
by Russell Turner - 15:50 on 25 October 2017
The bad news – I do have a blister, on my left little toe. The good news – I don’t feel it when wearing running shoes. Not that there’s been any running today, just another leisurely stroll, this time without the added extra mileage and with the Pentax.
I began with thoughts of townscapes but abandoned the idea because I couldn’t be bothered with the crowds – Durham seems to hold a particular fascination for Oriental visitors – and returned to the less-frequented riverside path in search of some autumnal shots.
These turned out so-so at best (although it was good to be shooting and looking again) but one thing that caught my eye was a collection of sculpted heads on the reverse of a riverside edifice, of which this is just a snippet. There was nothing to say if it commemorated anything or whether it was just for fun.
Back at 66 Claypath I was confronted by the resident beast, still eager to play. Matchgirl is keen for a pictorial representation so I did my best – not easy with such a shaggy dog. One snap managed to capture a hint of eyes, so here it is.
