Two Runs To Go
by Russell Turner - 21:03 on 16 November 2017
The end of the beginning is in sight. Yesterday I ran the first day of Week 6 of the couch to 5k schedule – another two sets of 12 minutes with a two-minute walk break. All went well, and to avoid chastisement by Matchgirl and Cathy I resisted the temptation to add a few minutes.
Tomorrow the schedule calls for two sets of 15 minutes with a mere one-minute break. However, I’ve seen the weather forecast. A day’s delay will still leave me on target for the climactic 30-minute run, with no breaks, on Monday. And I have Chatterbox to complete before we fly off to Florence.
Matchgirl, who’ll be running in the rain tomorrow, is not impressed by my avoidance of precipitation. I’ll have to face it sooner or later, she says, which is true, but later is fine by me. Why run in the rain if you don’t have to? Anyway, I’m still in the shorts so I’m not a total wuss.
