Pretty In Purple
by Russell Turner - 14:59 on 28 January 2018
The City Limits diary was quiet for January and continues so in February, although we’re busier in March. So last night’s gig at Elgin City FC Social Club was a welcome break and a chance to shake some rust off the fingers.
We seem to have become big in Elgin. Our reception last night was warm, again, and we’ve already had another wedding enquiry following the performance. Farewell words from some of the revellers as they tottered out of the club were that they’re looking forward to April when we play the Ladies Night for the second year.
The dress code for the ladies will be purple (it changes every year). Keith’s picked out some suitable apparel for the band but I suspect he’s not totally serious.
We’re back in action on February 16, at Foxes, and at the Moray Wedding Show (in Elgin) two days later, eights days before we gather in Glasgow to find out if we’re a Scottish Wedding Awards winner. I expect a central belt bias but you never know.
Before that, Matchgirl and I have an earlier appointment in Glasgow, for Strictly Live at the SSE Hydro on Friday. Susan Calman’s sure to get an even warmer welcome than City Limits’ in Elgin. It will be a memorable night.
