Be Careful What You Wish For – Part 2
by Russell Turner - 16:24 on 11 May 2018
It seems that barring accident or injury I will definitely take part in next year’s London Marathon, whether or not I win a ballot place. Cats Protection has come up trumps with a charity entry, guaranteeing me a trip to the start line on April 28, 2019. Woo hoo!
The only fly in the ointment is that I’ve committed to raising a minimum of £2,000 for the charity by the end of July 2019, which might be more difficult than running 26.2 miles. Gulp.
I’ve closed my 2018 giving page and created a new one, with the same URL (link above). Fundraising will begin in June when the next Chatterbox hits the streets, featuring a report of The Big Day and a plea for continued support. Much of CP’s fundraising advice is based around work premises and colleagues, which is not much use for a self-employed home-based worker, but I have a few bright ideas. Time will tell if they’re any good.
The latest training run took place today, spoiled by the sight of a dead badger at the side of the road. The Bushnell captured several snaps of Brock last night (none worth keeping unfortunately) so I’m hoping the victim’s not him and he’ll turn up as usual tonight.
In the meantime, here’s one from two nights ago.
