Twenty-Five Miles and Counting
by admin - 17:27 on 20 March 2010
Kawasaki San is back home after spending time in the care of the crack team at RM Motors. But he'll return on Monday. There's always something.
My motorcycle mate has been serviced, his brake callipers freed and an intermittent electrical mystery solved by removal of the ancient and never-used alarm. Kenny, the company's in-house bike expert, wasn't at work when I collected the GTR today, but left the unsettling message that he needed to talk “about a couple of things”.
With the MOT due soon, that can only be bad news.
More unsettling was the failure of rev counter and lights on the road back to The Rural Retreat. That they sprang back to life after a few miles (the engine was unaffected) was little comfort, for they died again after a few more.
The old boy now shows 99,975 miles on his odometer; whether he'll reach 100,000 is still open to question.
Photo Update: One snap passed today's quality control: this fine example of a fluffy tree sparrow, who proved that vibrant colour can be found in humble garden birds as well as exotic foreign species.
