While The Cat's Away...

by admin - 19:56 on 06 June 2012

Bess managed to hang on to a few teeth, despite Dr Vet having to hand over the operation to Dr Death. The medical masters decided that it was best to take out the damaged canine as swiftly as possible so there'd be less chance of anaesthetic damage to dodgy kidneys. The patient spent the rest of the day in a purple haze.

This was good news for local birdlife. The garden's been thronged all day, especially with tree sparrows and yellowhammers, and the junior woodpecker made several appearances, both alone and accompanied by dad.

The woodpeckers are a bit too far from That Bloody Window (© 2012, Squirrel James) for ace snappery but I captured a few scenes that pleased me. I could have set up the midget-sized hide that SJ gave me a while back but I like my comfort. Anyway, it's been raining.

Exhibition Update: The travelling Eilean Dubh show has opened at a new venue – the Royal Hotel in Cromarty. How long it stays there is undecided. Don't miss it.
