Matchgirl On The Razz

by admin - 20:21 on 15 June 2012

It's safe to say that Bess is feeling her old self – up with the dawn to demand food and company then asleep much of the afternoon and evening to prepare for another early start next day. This fits very poorly with human sleep patterns.

Matchgirl doesn't care. Today, after a boozy lunch with the girls at Rocpool Reserve in Inverness (no men allowed), she boarded the train to Edinburgh where she'll spend the weekend shopping, gossiping and learning how to become a Chi Runner. And more boozing.

The lunchtime wine flowed so freely that she missed her planned train and had to take the next, which offered first class accommodation for only half the journey. (She treats herself occasionally.) Much text grumbling ensued.

My weekend will involve running errands for the cat, gardening and attending a craft market in Dingwall Town Hall with a boxful of cards and prints. My last two visits there have produced decent results so with luck I'll earn enough to go shopping afterwards at Tesco. Roast chicken for cats doesn't come cheap.

The market's on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Drop in and treat yourself.

Marten Update: Young Marten came to dine around 10pm for the third successive night yesterday so I've fingers crossed for another visit tonight. Shame about the gloomy light – snappery's unlikely to take place.
