A Books Bonanza

Readers with good memories will wonder whatever happened to The Secret Project – a tome with a hush-hush subject which was set to become the third on the Bassman Books list. Sad to say, its author has become sidetracked by other pursuits, leaving a work in progress that I hope will be picked up in the future. But as one door closes...
The third Bassman Book, A Cat Called Tess, could soon be followed by the fourth: a compendium of historic (ie black and white) snaps of Rosemarkie and environs being compiled by another camera club friend, Freda, to raise funds for local charity.
If the success of the Inverness Courier series Inverness Remembered is anything to go by, Freda's book will be flying off the shelves at Christmas, assuming she's assembled the contents in time.
I'm hoping for even more commissions after Squirrel James, Andrew and I appear as one of the turns at the Black Isle Words Festival in September where we'll give a workshop on the highs and lows of self-publishing.
By then we'll be able to boast about our award-winning book, if enough of you have followed the link at the top of the page. Voting ends on August 31. Don't forget.
Marten Update: I snapped a few snaps of Mrs Marten last night, more in hope than expectation because the ISO was 3200 and the shutter speed a fifth of a second, but thanks to the flexibility of RAW images (I'm still learning) I managed a couple that are almost acceptable. So here they are, to remind James what martens look like.
