In Search Of Free Publicity

The Chief Chatterer and I enjoyed a fruitful morning in Cromarty today at the offices of Plexus: IT and website providers and host of the very site you're on now.
The fruit of our labour was an agreement in principle that Chatterbox, the Black Isle's finest quarterly magazine, will appear on and help promote the in-the-process-of-being-revamped Plexus website black-isle.info.
Take a look at the site; it's full of useful information for locals and visitors.
There was further media interest inside today's edition of the Ross-shire Journal. This contained a supplement, entitled Energy North, which on one of its pages features a snap I took in the days before kittens dominated the Pentax.
I was invited to submit the snap by one of The Chief Gnome's underlings (the RJ being a Great Northern Media Empire publication), probably because they knew I'd do it for free publicity, there being (this is GNoME) no payment involved.
But the caption mentioned my books and my website. There's no such thing as bad publicity.
Yesterday's snow divided opinion amongst The Rural Retreat's feline residents. Pandora – no surprise – was eager to enjoy the new-look garden; Willow was less impressed and returned to the warm after a short exploration; Maia refused to come out for more than a few grudged moments.
Sleep was of more interest this afternoon. Bulky Maia and growing Pandora squeezed into the basket intended for one kitten, ignoring the never-used cat bed beside it, while Willow dreamed her dreams on The Tess Memorial Shelf, where her latest portrait was captured.
Band Update: Strawdogs convened yesterday evening when potential new singer Gregor tried out a few more tunes. Progress is measurable, although he's unlikely to be ready for a possible gig in Nairn next weekend. Michael will take the lead role if the date is confirmed.
