Countdown To The Snip

by admin - 17:31 on 11 January 2013

Time is running out for The Fearless Ones: in less than a week the unsuspecting duo will be taken to Dr Death's clinic where their reproductive bits will be disassembled. Poor girls.

If Pandora knows, she's making the most of her last few days before The Big Snip. Yesterday evening she discovered that if she jumps on to the television table and stands on two legs, from there she can launch herself on to the mantelpiece, the last refuge of our fragile and precious possessions.

Leap-proof barriers have now been erected at both ends; how long they remain unbreached remains to be seen.

Our tabby terror also takes every opportunity to slip past and out when the door is opened then refuses to return. This will be less of a problem when she's recovered from Dr Vet's knife and isn't at risk of being turned into a single mum by any passing tom. Pandora's unlikely to see it that way, though.

Marathon Matchgirl was almost as pleased with life as Pandora when she followed up an unexpectedly successful training run this morning with a jaunt through the Inverness sales which garnered more new clothing. Where she'll store it in the bijou Rural Retreat is a mystery.

Autumn Survivor

The Retreat, albeit as a soft focus background, features on the latest Snapathon picture which stars one of the tiny, immature apples that have clung to a neighbouring tree since the autumn. Let's hope for a better crop this year.
