What's All The Fuss About?
by admin - 20:40 on 22 January 2013
Life is unfair for a Highland snow enthusiast. The bulk of the UK continues to slip and slither, but north of the Great Glen the only snow to be found is on high ground.
Matchgirl is utterly dischuffed about the situation. The television shows snow and blizzards from Devon to Dundee; the radio reports closures on the A82; friends send her pictures of gardens covered in white; her training guru cancels a session because he can't get from Aviemore to Inverness.
Yet around The Rural Retreat lies nothing but the leaves I've yet to sweep up. It's enough to make a girl very upset indeed.
So today, especially for her, I ventured on to the Heights of Dochcarty, above Dingwall, where I found a little bit of snow for her. It's not a spectacular image but it keeps the Snapathon going for another day.
Moggy Update: The Fearless Ones thrive. Their bonnets keep them quiet but, as soon as they're removed, action ensues. Matchgirl still sleeps in The Kittenry, rather than with me. I'm beginning to worry...
