Cats In Close-up
by admin - 22:21 on 13 August 2013
Matchgirl's photophobia affects cats too. A stroll up and down the lane with The Pride and the Pentax produced several snaps of The Fearless Ones (most deleted) but none of Maia, who ran every time she saw me crouch to get a shot at her level.
Apart from that, she had a jolly time. All three moggies scampered, leaped, chased moths and bees (still very few butterflies), disappeared into the wilderness on the other side of the tumbledown stone wall and took turns to joust with each other. Only Pandora climbed, then squeaked with panic when she thought she was stuck in an oak tree. The intrepid feline found her way back down eventually.
All in all, a typical walk with cats.
I saved a selection of close-ups, of which only the first deserved its survival, but Matchgirl would be disappointed if the others were binned.
After-dark action continues in the garden. Much of it's provided by Mystery Moggy No1, although martens and hedgehogs also play a part. They're clearly at ease in each other's company, as this Bushnell snap proves.
