Keeping The Welsh Happy

by Russell Turner - 16:09 on 27 September 2015

The first number in City Limits' set at the Bandstand Bar (Summer of 69 as it happens) ended with a huge roar of approval. It was good, but was it worthy of such a reception? Or was the fact that the television behind us, left on for the last twenty minutes of the big World Cup match, had just shown Wales scoring against England?

The second number ended with an equally enthusiastic roar, and for the same reason. Was the band a curse on English rugby? We waited eagerly for the end of the third number to see, but this time there was no Welsh breakthrough. England lost anyway, which caused much rejoicing amongst the group of Anyone But England supporters. Or maybe Nairn has a sizeable Welsh enclave.

Fortunately, most rugby fans stayed after the game and everyone, including us, had a great night – a tonic after a less-than-polished performance at Foxes the night before (although we still enjoyed a good reception).

After three busy months our diary is regrettably quiet in October, and even worse in November, so give us a call if you need an ace good time band for your pub or party. Satisfaction guaranteed.
