Another 40 Minutes
by Russell Turner - 21:15 on 16 December 2018
Matchgirl should be impressed: after another late bedtime following a City Limits gig at Elgin City Social Club, and further delayed sleep while Maia and Willow made themselves comfortable on the bed, this afternoon (having caught up on the Strictly final) I found the energy to complete another training run despite some chill wind. It may have been only 40 minutes, but all went well.
The bonus is that having done the run today I won’t have to rush tomorrow when I return to Glasgow with Matchgirl, freshly home from Shetland, to see The Nutty Boys (aka Madness). Fingers crossed that the train isn’t cancelled again.
So my build-up to the London Marathon continues apace. In April (all being well) I’ll once more take part in a race that tonight was part of the Sports Personality of the Year programme’s montage of great sporting events of 2018. I’ll be somewhere near the back, but in the same race as Mo Farah and Eliud Kipchoge. Very strange.
