Not A Happy Time

The year is not ending well. Pandora has been missing for two days and despite searching a widening radius around home, and lots of Facebook publicity, we’ve been unable to find her. At least there’s been no bad news about her whereabouts so we’ve not lost hope that any moment she might stroll through the cat-flap and ask what all the fuss is about.
Matchgirl’s search took her across the road that runs past The Rural Retreat. We’ve always hoped that it marked the boundary of Pandora’s territory (she being more of a wanderer than Willow and Maia) but it seems she’s crossed it on several occasions – one householder on the wrong side not only recognised her description but also believed she sometimes snaffles her cat’s food, which might explain Pandora’s expanding girth.
Maia doesn’t seem too concerned by her absence but Willow is clearly unsettled, even though it’s a long time since they’ve been as chummy as they were when kittens. Matchgirl is distraught. I’m trying to stay optimistic.
