Ready To Race The River
by Russell Turner - 15:41 on 27 July 2019
After last week’s sub-hour PB I couldn’t resist. Two weeks before the Yorkshire Marathon, and the day after a City Limits gig, I’ll take part (all being well) in the River Ness 10k in Inverness, part of Loch Ness Marathon day, on Sunday October 6.
It fits into my training schedule with a bit of jiggery-pokery, swapping a 90min easy run on Sunday with 50mins intervals on Friday, so no problem there, and I’m becoming used to running the morning after gigs so that should be OK too. I hope. The route is all flat or downhill too. My kind of run.
Our gig is a wedding dance in the village of Fochabers, World HQ of main race sponsor Baxters (which explains why the goodie bag always contains a can of soup). That must be a sign.
Wildlife Update: Fox and badger were both in the garden last night, although not together. No snaps were worth keeping. Maybe tonight.
