Recovering Well

The patient survived her dental operation and is now spending the night at Dr Death's clinic in Dingwall. All went well.
Matchgirl took Bess to the surgery first thing this morning after a brief chase around the living room. The puss was surprisingly sprightly considering she'd not eaten for more than twelve hours – a shock for a cat used being fed on demand and nibbling through the night. Her cat-flap had been kept locked so she couldn't hunt down any rodent snacks.
Worse was to come for the famished feline – a spate of emergency operations took precedence over the dentally-challenged moggy. This meant she suffered a hungry morning until she went under the knife early in the afternoon. I'm sure she understood, for a few months ago she was the one rushed to the head of the queue to receive life-saving treatment.
The staff were pleased to see her, Matchgirl reported proudly. She's one of their favourite patients, it seems. Certainly one of their most regular ones.
Bess will come home tomorrow with a diet sheet pinned to her basket. The week to come could be a challenging one for the finicky eater.
