It's For You

For months (it seems like years) Matchgirl has lusted after an iPhone. Not because it's vital for her business success, or because it would keep her in better touch with her significant other during her regular jaunts to Shetland, but because she wants one.
The last few days have seen an upsurge in her telephonic desires, leading to more internet browsing, more leafing through magazines with titles such as What Mobile?, and further interrogation of the nice young men behind the counter at the Orange store in Inverness.
She's besotted by the idea of all the apps she could have on her iPhone, especially the one that, after you've input the contents of your fridge, will come up with recipe ideas. (Sad but true.) The fact that I'm the one who dons the pinny in The Rural Retreat's kitchen is by the by.
A decision was almost reached today, after much pondering of providers and memory and weighing the merits of 3GS against 4G. But not quite. The technophile is terrified to commit herself for fear that something even better will hit the market the day after she makes her purchase.
She'll consider her options again tomorrow; I won't hold my breath.
Football Update: Cup final fever has swept Dingwall where today every second person was dressed in Ross County colours in anticipation of tomorrow's Scottish Cup clash with Dundee United. Scarves, shirts and other memorabilia were being sold at the top of the High Street and in Tesco's car park. 'Mon the Staggies!
