Stress Takes Its Toll
by admin - 22:46 on 27 July 2010
Spider's dream of becoming the household's new Alpha Cat has cost her dear – this afternoon she was taken to see Dr Death, suffering from what was diagnosed as a stress-related condition. It's tough at the top.
She spent much of her free time today as close as possible to Matchgirl or me or lying on the sofa, the catnip mouse cuddled to her chest. Bess showed no sympathy.
The vet blamed all the comings and goings in The Rural Retreat. However, as Spider coped admirably when uprooted from her long-term home and placed with us, I believe that Bess's evil eye may be the real cause of her problem.
Master Marten snapped in the gathering gloom of dusk
No sightings of martens were made this evening – the only opportunity I had after spending the day at GNoME HQ – so here's the least worst of yesterday's snaps followed by a couple of Dales souvenirs.
