The Day The Music Died

by admin - 23:18 on 02 August 2010

Matt the drummer resigned from the quantum rock band today citing overwhelming lack of enthusiasm. I guess we all feel the same; he's the first to say so.

We've had too many false starts since Garry the singer threw his hissy fit and still no real prospect of a fresh beginning, so that's it – I'm now officially bandless again.

Maybe we'll have another go next year, renewed and raring to go after a break from showbiz. In the meantime I'll have more time for other pursuits.

Not that I made best use of my time today: lots to do and all ignored in favour of a morning at Chanonry Point and an afternoon with a book. I don't even have any snaps to show for my efforts – a few dolphins were around but not in acrobatic mood.

Mystery Moggy

Mystery Moggy pictured a month ago on his first visit

There's been no sign of martens either but, as compensation, Mystery Moggy made his first appearance for several weeks. I replaced the Nutella he stole, only for him to reappear a few minutes later, and again a few minutes after I shooed him away.

I had to repeat the shooing when he returned yet again, this time to climb The Nutella Tree. He's a persistent blighter but left unsatisfied. If he's back after dark, Master Marten will have to fight his own battles for Nutella.
