A Feast of Snappery
by admin - 23:06 on 02 September 2010
Cromarty Camera Club was back in action tonight after its summer break – and I'm a winner already!
My success was nothing to do with snappery, however, simply the luck of the draw in the evening's raffle. The prize was a rather tasty-looking bottle of wine. So it's a shame I forgot to bring it home. Plonk-er.
The evening's programme was a brisk audio-visual extravaganza that featured winning and commended snaps in club and external competitions during the last year – just the inspiration I need to give the Pentax a serious workout as soon as possible. It's had a quiet life recently.
If the good weather continues I'll have no excuse.
As it's that time of year again, I'd hoped to get some shots – both golden and moody – of neighbouring fields which were harvested on Monday and the straw baled on Tuesday. But the bales were carried off today while I frittered my time away at GNoME HQ, and one of the fields has already been ploughed.
The local farmers must have turbo-charged tractors. Fortunately there are plenty more fields to be seen. Expect bucolic scenes to appear on Flickr very soon.
