A Bit of a Breeze
by admin - 22:28 on 29 September 2010
Shetland's fine, sunny weather didn't last long. Yesterday, the winds for which it's noted caused cliff-top snappery to be abandoned after half an hour, with nothing to show for the attempt. Today, rain was added to the meteorological mix.
I could have put my home-made weather hood on the Pentax and gone out to capture some gritty shots of wave-lashed shores and storm-tossed fishing boats, or I could have stayed in and read a book. The decision wasn't difficult.
Matchgirl had no such problems, being fully occupied with her business dealings until 5pm when her working day ended and her own holiday began at last. What we'll do with our last days on Shetland are undecided, although the wind that's forecast to blow strongly for the next few days might have a bearing on our plans.
I suspect that sailing will not play a large part in our holiday pursuits.
