The Public Speaks

The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery will be available direct from the authors for the remarkably modest price of £19.95. Plus postage, if we can't hand it to you in person. Autographs are free.

We didn't aim for Christmas publication – we didn't know when we'd finish – but it's very frustrating that the locally printed edition will probably appear too late to slip into Xmas stockings, especially as several generous people wish to give them as prezzies.

A fine book of snappery is an acceptable gift at any time, of course. Leave your details here to reserve your copy of this masterly work of scenic splendour and be among the first to be informed when the book becomes available.

Eilean Dubh

Yesterday, Dolphin James was out and about in Fortrose and Rosemarkie, waving his copy of the magnum opus at the owners of possible retail outlets and gathering feedback from anyone who stepped too close to him. Its reception was uniformly enthusiastic, he reported.

I took this with a pinch of salt, but today we braved snow and icy roads to visit a couple more potential outlets, in Cromarty, and I observed first hand the fervour with which our work was received. Most gratifying. Next week we'll attempt to turn that enthusiasm into hard orders and decide the size of our first print run.

Very exciting.
