Failure and Consolation
by admin - 23:17 on 09 December 2010
Another results night at Cromarty Camera Club – and I'm a winner!
Sadly, all I won was the raffle (again). My snaps, for the second time, were deemed wanting by the voting membership and none made it into the top ten. I won't be wearing the (joint) Photographer of the Year crown much longer. How the mighty are fallen.
But there's another consolation. The first copy of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery to be sold through Blurb was snapped up today, presumably by a random stranger who stumbled across the pictorial treasure while browsing the site. A person of taste.
You could buy it there too, if you're impatient, but the revised, locally printed version is only a few weeks from reality. Tomorrow, sample pages will be sent to Norman to make sure his John Bull printing press can replicate Blurb's dazzling colours. If he succeeds, the first print run won't be far behind.
