A Job For Mum

by admin - 22:39 on 23 February 2011

The rebound sample copy of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery has been sent to Norman from the specialist bindery in Wakefield. We're making progress again.

Andrew will pick it up tomorrow. In the evening the three authors will examine the pages thoroughly and decide if the rescue has been successful. Another summit meeting with Norman and Brian will take place on Friday.

Norman's email, which informed me of the good news, revealed that the bindery in question is Hammonds in Flanshaw Way – just a few minutes' walk from where my mum resides. If the firm gets the contract I might have to send her round to keep an eye on them. It's a very small world.

Also back where she belongs is Matchgirl, who survived what sounded like a gale-force few days on windswept Shetland. Bess was delighted. So was I.
