If At First...

Today's the day, if Norman and Co's revised schedule is to be believed, that binding operations began in Wakefield on The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery.

We're told the finished goods will be in the Highlands on Thursday. Or Friday. We'll see.

Marten James has become a little despondent with regard to the project's stuttering progress, but I'm certain that he'll perk up when he has expertly bound copies of The Great Work in his hands. Andrew's thoughts have been kept to himself.

So it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that the first lucky shops could take delivery of the Highlands' next best-seller on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Band Update: The re-formed Shaker continues to make progress. Monday night's get-together displayed notable musical tightness, even in two of the songs we tried for the first time: Raise The Alarm by Aussie rockers The Living End and Neil Young's Rockin In The Free World. Great stuff. I've resisted the temptation to splash out on a double bass, though – I don't think I'd look as cool as Scott Owen.
