Busy, Busy, Busy

It will be a relief to get back to GNoME HQ tomorrow – I need the rest.
Much of the day was spent in front of the Mac, doing accounts for The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery and preparatory work on the next pictorial epic – a Cromarty Camera Club year book which will feature the members' top snaps this session.
My screen breaks involved a journey to Andrew's for a short book-signing session, a book delivery trip to Marten James and a jaunt to the bank to deposit our first takings.
And in the evening I attended a summit meeting with the good folks of Inverness Swimming Club about their revamped website (a work in progress). Exhausting.
However, the most dramatic meeting could be tomorrow evening, for Norman and Co have at last produced a quote for the next print run that features book quantities of five hundred, one thousand and – most daring – two thousand copies. This involves big money, but vastly reduced unit prices. Debate could be fierce.
A sign that spring is here was the sight today of healthy lambs in a field and dead deer on the verge in two different places. This was of huge interest to James, who ensures martens keep returning to his camera trap by providing fresh roadkill.
Or not so fresh, as he discovered when he arrived at one site with a sack and a determined expression. Despite that, he carried off the carcass. Anything to keep the martens happy.
