The end is in sight. Norman will have the second run of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery printed and sent to the bindery by the end of today. Or Monday next week. He's snowed under with election work, he tells us.
That means we'll have three hundred shiny new copies in our hands on Friday next week. Or Monday the week following.
How long we'll have them is another matter. If the existing outlets repeat their orders, and new ones take theirs, by the time the private buyers have been satisfied we could have less than half the run left. And that's before the next media blitz. If you've not yet got yours, order now before it's too late.
It would be good to be able to say that plans for the third print run are in hand and progressing smoothly. But they're not and we can't.
This means that Andrew and I might have to take some executive decisions in the next two weeks; Marten James won't be here to ratify them, having chosen a most inopportune time to get married (today) and honeymoon in Borneo.
That's why today's blog post appears so early – Matchgirl will soon be agonising over which posh frock to wear for tonight's post-match shindig in Elgin. Three hours before we leave and she's still not decided. That's cutting it fine.
