In Demand Again

The second printing of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery, which comes into our hands on Wednesday, might sell out as quickly as the first.
Today Waterstone's in Inverness confirmed that they want to take thirty copies – ten per cent of our print run. And two more outlets have been added to the list of where the Highlands' hottest photo book will be available – Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie and North Kessock Tourist Information Centre.
When existing outlets are resupplied, and reserved copies dispatched to eager readers, around half the new run will be gone. It looks like we'll have to get organised for the third printing sooner rather than later.
Wildlife Update: There's another death to report, although this time not so close to home. Mercedes the polar bear was put down by Highland Wildlife Park today at the age of thirty – the day before Matchgirl and I planned to visit for the first time in months. Not good timing.
Better news was the reappearance yesterday evening after a long absence of Miss Marten, who chomped her way through the usual goodies as though she'd never been away. How the martens agree whose turn it is to visit remains a mystery.
