A Matter Of Priority

Marten James may be on honeymoon in the wilds of Borneo, but it's clear what's uppermost in his mind.
Today I received the second text inquiring into the progress of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery's new print run, which was expected today. I had to disappoint him.
One of the mysterious hold-ups that have beset the book's career mean we won't receive it until tomorrow (further hold-ups permitting). With luck we'll have it in the shops in time for the Easter tourist rush.
The roads are already getting busy, as Matchgirl discovered today while driving blamelessly on the A9. If it wasn't for a fortunate lay-by she could have come even closer to the hatchback filled with idiot yoof who thought that overtaking a string of traffic on a blind bend was a good idea.
She had another close encounter nearer to home, when Shrek proved he'd learned little from the fate of his predecessor.
When I came home to The Rural Retreat today I found him strutting around the apple tree in the company of six lady pheasants. I suspect he's got things other than road safety on his mind.
