The Bumper Book – Now Even Better!

by admin - 22:55 on 23 June 2011

Today was the day – one thousand gleaming new copies of The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snappery. Well, almost a thousand...

The call came at midday, so I cleared out the back of Mr Ford, picked up Andrew (James was at work) and headed to Big Sky Print at Findhorn where the ever jovial Tigger was waiting, eager to show off his firm's handiwork.

And very good it is too. Heavy paper and a thicker cover makes the book an even higher-quality product (but still remarkably good value at only £19.95, available here) and the litho printing leaves the snaps sharper and more vibrant. We were most impressed.

Mr Ford wasn't. By the time we'd loaded box after box of books his rear end sagged perilously close to the ground. However, we made it back to the Black Isle without incident, divvied up the boxes and confirmed our attendance at Saturday's community market in North Kessock where we hope to sell some of their contents.

The day's only hiccup was the discovery that we'd come home a box short – and that I'd left my wallet behind. All being well I'll collect both tomorrow when I make an unexpectedly swift return to Findhorn.

Pine Marten Update: Master Marten had no trouble finding his supper in its latest location, concealed artfully amongst a photogenic clump of greenery. The only drawback was that he crouched behind the clump to eat then ran off with the egg. Back to the drawing board. It was too dark for snappery anyway.
