Selling Like Hot Cakes

Only a handful of sales were made at today's market, but lunch afterwards at the North Kessock Hotel found The Bumper Book of Black Isle Snapper's authors another outlet – and James even sold a copy to a waitress there. The charmer.
More outlets have been resupplied, plus three more new ones – the Dolphin Trips base at Avoch, Ecoventures in Cromarty and Comfort Foods in Rosemarkie. And Clare from Tore Art Gallery has offered to sell the Bumper Book at the prestigious Moy Field Sports Fair a few days after the Black Isle Show.
(Whether we should be associated with an estate on which poisoned raptors have been found is open to debate, of course.)
After two days, more than a hundred and fifty of the (almost) one thousand copies supplied by Tigger are now sold or out on sale or return. The future is promising.
Matchgirl and I came down to earth in the afternoon when we carried out the long-overdue task of emptying The Rural Retreat's leaf-choked guttering. Fortunately, that wasn't literally down to earth, despite having to use a borrowed ladder with one leg shorter than the other. Not recommended.
All we need now is a good rainstorm to check that the downspouts are all cleared correctly. By the look of the forecast we won't have long to wait.
For the second day, no pine martens were seen but Speedy made an unexpected appearance during the afternoon when he was noted exploring the remains of the rhubarb patch. He kept his head down too low for worthwhile snappery, then ran away when our backs were turned.
The world's only hot-rod hedgehog continues to live up to his name.
