An Early Morning Call
by admin - 23:20 on 08 July 2011
Matchgirl wasn't impressed when I bounded downstairs at 6am, alerted by extreme twittering that something was afoot in the garden. A restless moggy had woken us at 4am and sleep had been spasmodic since then.
Master Marten was the cause of the angry birds' displeasure. By the time I saw him he'd cleared the gate of Nutella and moved on to the egg ignored by last night's chocoholic kits, completely unbothered by the feathered frenzy.
I got the Pentax on him after he climbed The Nutella Tree but the uncooperative mustelid spent most of his time eating breakfast with his back to me. One snap was worth keeping – great light but a bit soft. Such is life.
Many more marten goodies than usual were put out tonight in anticipation of the kits' return. They didn't, of course. Nor did Master Marten. Don't they know that their fans are waiting for the next snap?
