The Comfort Blanket
by admin - 20:57 on 13 November 2011
Winter is here – that's official. As Matchgirl spent much of the day swathed in her seasonal blanket, tonight I lit The Rural Retreat's open fire to supplement the Rayburn-fired central heating. The blanket was cast off eventually but I suspect it won't be allowed far from The Shivering One's reach during the next few months.
Apart from a trip to Tesco, my day's been taken up with preparations for my talk to Dingwall Camera Club in December, when I share the billing with Squirrel James.
As his dancing dolphins and stunt squirrels are certain to outshine my own humble snaps I'm concentrating on an audio-visual spectacular (which has the bonus of reducing the time I'll actually have to speak to the Serious Lenses). This involves intensive use of Windows Movie Maker on my netbook, which crashed three times while creating a five-minute sequence – one of several I have planned.
It's probably just as well that, thanks to Cap'n Gnome, I have more free time than I'd anticipated in which to complete my digital endeavours.
