Vetting The Vet

Matchgirl, as you can't fail to be aware, is a great believer in the internet as a source of reliable information, especially when she feels the need to confirm the treatment recommended by Bess's medical team.
That's why when Dr Vet phoned us today, in response to a request by Matchgirl, I had an extensive list of questions to ask (The Concerned One being absent at work).
To cut a very long story short, Bess – who's lately been less sprightly and untypically uninterested in the contents of her food dish, however cunningly presented – will now be given a hyperthyroid pill every third day rather than every day; the current dosage appears to have taken her metabolism too far the other way.
Her wanderings may have lessened but our flighty feline still enjoys solo jaunts after dark, as confirmed most nights by the Bushnell. Martens and hedgehogs continue to be captured too.
But one new visitor has yet to be petrified in pixels – the latest mystery moggy, seen on three occasions atop Mrs Marten's gate. The result of a face-to-face encounter could be interesting, although my money's on the marten: Mrs M, as we observe by torch and outside light every evening, is far too at home on her perch to give it up to anyone.
